Canon EOS Concept SLR Will Shoot Killer 4K Video

Canon EOS Concept SLR Will Shoot Killer 4K Video

A Canon EOS 4K SLR is on the way. We just learned about the $20,000 Canon EOS C300Digital Cinema Camera due out in January. Canon has also released some details about a video-oriented SLR, and we’re drooling.   The Canon EOS 4K SLR is just a concept now, but it’s pretty exciting. We do know that it’ll have a full frame CMOS sensor, and that it’ll record 4K video at 24 fps, but that’s about it. No word on pricing or availability, but Canon is definitely targeting the professional production set with the concept camera.   When I first saw this camera, Man I all I wanted to do was shoot video! Soon Enough!

Sigma 30mm f.1.4: A Review!

Today I’m going to be reviewing my latest addition to my gear bag, The Sigma 30mm f 1.4 Portrait lens! I traded in my old Sigma fisheye. I wanted to keep the Sigma fisheye but It was collecting dust, so It was a must go!   I purchased this lens from B/H-Photo, Which is always great, fast shipping. After receiving this lens I was stunned on how solid it felt and how glad I was when it came with a hood and a carrying case. I am always upset with Canon not giving their lenses with lens hoods. I feel that it should be a required accessory to every lens, The focusing ring is a little stiff but very smooth and I feel it is perfect balance between  stiffness and smoothness.   The feel of the lens in your hand is

New App From Canon Coming Soon! Photographers Block

Cool new app from Canon promises to help photographers with inspiration.  This app is aimed at hitting creatives right where we need it the most. At our “creative blocks”. Canon is looking at becoming a partner of inspiration and we could all use a little help with inspiration from time to time. Of course they worked with some of today’s top photographers in a round-table discussions to come up with great ways that they could help structure your thinking about projects.   It’s pretty impressive really. Here’s a quick video I shot of the app and some of what Paul and I discussed. Excuse the glare. You turn on the app. You’re presented with fields to fill in. The fields are location, subject, feeling, and technique. You then hit done and it creates a great little graphical inspiration type poster

LensBand: A Review

Large and heavy glass lenses are subject to what photographers call ‘zoom creep’ where they have the tendency to extend outward when pointed downwards.  This is a problem that frustrates some photographers to no end! Me included! There is a way you can fix this problem easily and all you might need is a specialized tool. I ordered one of this “tool” in white to try it on my lens that always gives me trouble, I received it in the mail about 4 days later and so far it seems to fit all my other lens and was very easy to place on the trouble maker. I noticed at first that even with the LensBand over the zoom ring, It still creeped a little, I just adjusted it slightly and now doesn’t move at all!    The LensBand is made

OCCUPY WALL STREET PROTESTERS’ ARRESTS

I wanted to give my 2 cents on the Occupy Movement. I think it is something that WE ALL have to get behind! We all must fight for what we believe in! Wall Street is Corrupt and they have congress in their pocket! This needs to change, 99% of america are suffering and can barely feed their families. I was going to plan a trip to my local Occupy Lancaster to get some shots of the citizen who are fighting the good fight and winning the battle for the future. I say to them keep it guy people keep it up! “We will not be afraid, we will not be silenced, we will not stand quietly while police brutalize peaceful occupiers. We fight for true democracy, and we fight to end the tyranny of the 1%. This is only the
