Well, Another day has past and still no camera! I don’t know what Canons doing to it, maybe there checking it twice. Who knows what they’re doing. All I know is I want my baby back! Today I’m gonna try to keep this blog very easy and casual. I’m going to give you a few tips for surviving through a camera repair. So here it goes.
When your camera goes in for repair, There are moments when you will feel sheer terror and total sadness like you just dropped your brand new L series lens that you just paid 4 grand for on eBay, off the bridge you were on taking photos of traffic light! So to ease said feeling:
Tip 1: Clean all your equipment, Every lens, Every body, Every little piece of your kit. Tripods, Filters, Cards, Everything!
Tip 2: reorganize all your photos. make back ups of your back ups, make sure all your Raw/Original photos are safe and secure.
Tip 3: Try New editing software. I have a Macbook Pro, so I can use Aperture 3 and Lightroom 3 and Photoshop. That means I use all three sometimes, But you might not have the great opportunity. So give it a try, download a demo of the software that you don’t use and give a whirl. It can’t hurt!
Tip: 4: Scouting. Where ever you live, Drive around scout for new locations to shoot, maybe new angles. I know when I get my camera back, I’m headed to highway interchanges to shoot the under sides. New places will be fun!
Tip: 5: Read Photography Blogs. I have a program called NetNewsWire, It holds all my photography blogs and websites. They have so many tips, so many cool images, just lots of goodness.
Whelp, that’s my tips for Camera repair nightmares! If you have any tips to add please do.
Now checking the canon website again for the 50th time today to see if there’s any update on my girl. Hopefully I will have her safely back in my kit before saturday! thanks for listening and have a great photography week!!
